What is Reflexology?
· Reflexology is a calming, relaxing way to reduce stress and tension
· It is a specific massage technique used on defined reflex points on the hands or feet, to help heal the whole person and not just the prevailing symptoms
· Reflexology induces a state of deep relaxation and has proved beneficial for most stress related conditions
· It is suitable for all ages and may bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
· It can be used to help restore and maintain natural equilibrium encouraging the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance
· Reflexology is one of the oldest forms of therapy – the ancient Egyptians and Chinese were particular fans. It first came to prominence in America in the 1930’s and was introduced to the UK in the 1960’s

What to expect from a Reflexology treatment
Reflexology is a calming, relaxing experience and certainly does not tickle, although sensitivity does vary from person to person.
Often benefits are felt after just one treatment, however, a series of treatments may be needed to significantly improve a condition.
After treatment there may be a temporary reaction as the body readjusts. This could be a feeling of well being, relaxation, lethargy or a sensation of being ‘off colour’. This is short lived and is simply part of the healing process.
Reflexology in the workplace
Companies in the UK are now starting to follow the example of Denmark where providing Reflexology at work has shown benefits can be achieved. Short 15 minute sessions on a regular basis have been shown to provide benefits, amongst which are:-
· reduced absence and sickness
· increased productivity
· increased financial benefits for the company
· increased morale, satisfaction and loyalty of the staff
· enhanced concentration, efficiency and accuracy
· improved creativity, planning and decision making
· the ability of staff to cope more effectively under pressure
· speedy recovery and return to work after illness, accident or surgery
· pain relief for stress related conditions such as headaches, migraine, etc
Hand Reflexology
Hand reflexology has all the benefits of foot reflexology and is especially useful when the feet can’t be worked on or the client's feet are especially sensitive.
